Michelle is the band director at a local high school in Stark County. If you know anything about education, you know how underpaid our educators are. I’m allowed to say that because I too was once a teacher. A major benefit to being a teacher though is the time off they get around the holidays. Even with directing the marching band the weeks leading up to Football Season, and during, Michelle managed to find time after a busy season to help the local Tavern out with bartending.
This is where Michelle and Adam’s story begins. Without the second job in the evenings and weekends, Michelle and Adam’s paths may have never crossed. With very little coaxing one night, Adam got ready and headed to the bar after receiving a text on his phone – “Come check out the new girl…she’s 31 and single!”
Adam sat in the very booth he’s pictured in below when Michelle served him the first time. Over the course of a couple visits, they started a friendship. Jenga and Battleship were common games played during those visits to the Tavern. It didn’t take either one long to know something special was forming here. Two years later, Adam would propose to Michelle while on a camping trip in Michigan!
I’ve said it before, but I really love it when my couples pick a location that is sentimental to their relationship. It was a no-brainer to do engagement photos at the Miller-Doan Tavern where they first met. Then we walked around Downtown Canal Fulton hoping to find some fall color. What a very strange fall we have had here in Northeast Ohio this year. Peak color for leaves is normally the second week of the month. This year, it didn’t come until the LAST!
It seems hard to believe that I have to wait a whole year until I see Michelle and Adam again. But I know their Brookside Farm Wedding next November is going to be beautiful! Maybe we’ll even have some snow…
