Downtown Canton Summer Engagement Photos

While traveling back to Michigan to meet up with his hockey team, Charles passed right by Camille’s apartment that sat beside the highway.  It’s honestly a stroke of good fortune that Camille hit the window at the perfect time for her to swipe right.  

Three months of chatting back and forth long distance, Camille drove to Michigan to meet her some-day husband.  She knew then what she knows now, how crazy it was for her to make that trip alone.  But clearly, it has all worked out.  Because here we are, sharing their engagement photos today on the blog!

My story with Camille and Charles isn’t typical, and honestly, I think that’s what makes it that much more special.  God has a funny way of introducing people into your lives are the right time.  I was never on their radar until I was.  

A sad turn of events led Charles and Camille to me.  Their original wedding photographer had a family situation that needed her undivided attention.  My talent and experience were trusted, and last minute, I stepped in to photograph Charles and Camille’s wedding day that is 9 days away!

Being that it’s a short relationship for the three of us, I asked knowing that the chances were slim if they had time in the remaining days to meet one evening for a quick engagement session. Having an engagement session and getting to know one another is pivotal for the wedding day to run smoothly!  I can count on one hand the number of couples that I haven’t had the opportunity to take their engagement photos.  And those wedding days experience bumps in the road that the rest of weddings have not!

So here we are, just days away from their wedding day, and we spent over an hour together taking photos and talking in downtown Canton.  But if I’m being honest, we did more talking than taking photos.  These two immediately felt like close friends.  They even brought Layla with them – their hound dog that is just the sweetest thing ever.  You’ll see below how she was a rockstar posing for photos!  If you know me well, you know how excited I was to see a four-legged family member join in on the fun!
