Patterson Fruit Farm Engagement Photos
My path with Zaid and Katlyn first crossed last summer where they were guests at Brooke and Jordan’s Country Cottage Wedding. These two stood out among the guests on the dance floor because they were clearly having the best time. At one point, Zaid’s blue tie was off his collar and around Katlyn’s neck as they both danced together. It was evident that these two understand that life is short, and you might as well have fun while you’re here on this earth.
Katlyn emailed a couple weeks ago inquiring about engagement photos in her hometown. She mentioned she was a guest at Brooke and Jordan’s wedding and said Jamie (my second photographer) and I snagged photos. When she mentioned the tie, I immediately remembered these two!
Since Zaid and Katlyn live in Phoenix, we had a short window of time to schedule their engagement session, and thankfully we didn’t have to use our rain date in case Mother Nature here in Northeast Ohio decided to play dirty.
Katlyn wanted a small town feel to her hometown photos and decided we would meet at Patterson Fruit Farm in Chesterland – east of Cleveland by a couple dozen miles. It’s always fun for me to shoot in a new location, the inspiration that flows from my fingertips to the camera is my favorite part. I feel like a painter looking at a blank canvas, getting ready to create a new masterpiece!
We spent some time in the fields below Patterson Fruit Farm at the Park, and of course, took photos in the Orchard. During Med School, Zaid photographed a number of weddings, which meant for the first time in a long time, I had a groom who probably enjoyed being in front of the camera more than his bride.
At the end of their session, we took a number of candids on the playground where these two just had fun, and didn’t worry about where I was with my camera. Once again, you can tell that Katlyn and Zaid spend their days together having fun and enjoying every minute of life together.
Zaid isn’t from Northeast Ohio, he actually grew up on the east coast in Maryland. I’m very thankful that my schedule was able to line up with theirs so that I could travel to Zaid’s hometown to do a second session with these two. Those photos are coming up tomorrow on the blog! Talk about marking off a bucket list destination last week!!!
Love the photos, these two enjoy life, it’s very evident! Beautiful photos and beautiful couple!
