DC Cherry Blossom Festival | Our Engagement Session

Two years ago tomorrow Josh and I spent the most perfect evening in one of my most favorite cities, during peak Cherry Blossom season with my FAVORITE photographer – Kaitlin Noel Photography from Cape May New Jersey!

If you don’t know my personal wedding photography story, let me give you the short version.  I haphazardly came across Kaitlin’s Facebook page one Sunday morning in 2012 and INSTANTLY fell in love with her work.  Josh and I were still a year and half away from being engaged, but the moment I saw Kait’s work, I KNEW I’d move mountains for her to shoot my wedding.  When Joshua proposed November 2013, she was the FIRST vendor I contacted because I was picking my wedding date based on her availability.  The star’s aligned and my dream came true, I was a KNP bride!

My one downfall was that I knew engagement photos with Kaitlin was going to be impossible because she lives in New Jersey and Josh and I would have zero time to travel to her.  But once again, the stars aligned and the weekend of peak season for the Cherry Blossom Trees in DC we were both planning on being in town.

I remember messaging Kaitlin, telling her Josh and I were traveling there that very same weekend, and I wondered if she had time to catch drinks and chat about the wedding.  To my surprise, this sweet woman wanted to do a quick session.  With a little convincing and sweet talking, Josh agreed to “suffer” through another engagement session.  I think he secretly knew how important this meant to me, and that man strives to make his wife happy.  When I say I’m a lucky wife, I truly, truly am the luckiest of them all.

Two years later, I’m still drooling over these beautiful photos.  I LOVE Cherry Blossom season, I LOVE DC, I LOVE Joshua, and I LOVE Kaitlin.  I couldn’t have asked for a better location to have photos taken!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorites from our engagement photos!  I can’t believe in just a few short months we’ll married for two years already.  A week and half ago was our EIGHT year dating anniversary!  Time flies when you’re having fun!
