Lavender Spring Wedding at Brookside Farm

Lavender Spring Wedding at Brookside Farm

Man oh man. This beautiful lavender spring wedding that just took place this past Saturday at Brookside Farm was everything and more I could have asked for.

I have many favorite parts of the day. Being greeted by this beautiful bride of mine and the loving hug she gave me. I felt like I was reconnected with a long lost friend! I adored the first look Rett and Emma had. The tears that steadily filled and exited Rett’s eyes were enough to keep me hiding behind my camera!

But my favorite part of the wedding day came after Emma and her daddy made the walk down the aisle at the ceremony. I’m a sucker for a good pappy/granddaughter story, and Saturday pulled at my heartstrings something fierce.

You see, Emma’s grandfather is an ordained minister. He’s been retired for many years, but there is only one person Emma ever wanted to marry her off.

Her Poppa.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the Chapel at Brookside Farms as he read the note Emma gave him, asking if he would “marry her.”

While Emma was attempting to stare off into the distance at the cows in the field, he Poppa’s voice was shaking, and tears filled everyone’s eyes.

How stinking special for these newlyweds to have someone so special to them kick off their marriage?! I’m going to cry just thinking about it again!

Mr. and Mrs. Allen – I hope Jamaica is treating you well! I’m sure the sand is white, and the water is crystal clear. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to laugh with you, cry with you, and share in your joy on your wedding day!

PS…thanks for loving my little girl as much as you! It’s not every day she gets to make a guest appearance at a wedding…in her jammies nonetheless!
