Brookside Farms Spring Wedding
My list of favorite things about Brookside Farm in Louisville Ohio, just east of Canton, is long. But one of the things I think I love the most for my couples is that when having a wedding at Brookside, you can feel like you’re escaping from the rest of the world. Kelly and her friends spent Friday evening at the Farmhouse at the top of the farm lane. They were able to relax the morning of her wedding, instead of rushing around.
When I arrived after lunch at the Farm House, Kelly was pouring mimosas and was as relaxed as a Bride on her wedding could possibly get. She was smiling from ear to ear and if it wouldn’t have been for the florals in the hallway or the wedding gown hanging up in the next room, you would have never known Kelly would soon be walking down the aisle. She was that calm.
Jimmy, on the other hand, he was nervous. And I knew when I saw him, we would have a great day. When Brides are cool as cucumbers and the Grooms are nervous Nancy’s, it’s a recipe for a perfect wedding. And a perfect day we had for their Brookside Farms spring wedding this past weekend!
It rained for a couple minutes as we were getting ready for the first look, but this simply just gave us an opportunity to have the first look on the porch of the Farm House. Kelly tiptoed out of the front door of the brick home while Jimmy stood with his back towards her and tears welling up in his eyes.
After a couple of tears, lots of kisses, and some giggles, the rain stopped, allowing us to take photos with overcast skies. Perfect weather for mid-afternoon photos on a wedding day! We spent time at the barn behind the Farmhouse before moving down to the chapel with the rest of the bridal party. With dark skies to the east of us, we quickly took bridal party photos before the ceremony. I was a tad nervous about the way the skies looked that our party would get rained on. Thankfully that storm skipped over Brookside Farm and we stayed dry the rest of the evening.
Jimmy and Kelly’s ceremony was short and straight to the point. They both talked about their love for diet coke, chicken nuggets, and the movie Sweet Home Alabama in their vows liked they planned it the night before. Once the ceremony was over, the newlyweds snuck outside the chapel for some quick photos with the John Deere tractor that Jimmy and his dad restored over the last four years. It’s a beauty, and I know Jimmy was looking forward to photos with his Bride and tractor all day!
I enjoyed every second with these two on their wedding day! Their Brookside Farms spring wedding will certainly go down in the top 5 of my favorite Brookside weddings!
