A Brookside Farm Engagement Session
Last summer, Abby contacted me to write a piece on Jana and Brant’s story. At the time, Abby was an editor for Mount Union University‘s school paper. You can read Abby’s beautiful words on Jana and Brants love story here
After Chris proposed to Abby in Michigan on a family vacation, Abby emailed me telling me the exciting news, and that she was now in search for a photographer. I knew from the very beginning that Abby was a true LJ Bride! She has spunk, a kind heart, and the most adorable smile! And Chris. Chris is such a generous man, and does anything to make Abby smile. He’s exactly what every lady wants in her future husband!
Last Friday evening, we met at Brookside Farm in Louisville for their engagement session. I average about three weddings a year on the property so I’m very familiar with the property. However, Chris and Abby’s engagement session was the first for me at Brookside. It was such a wonderful change of pace. We could take our time walking around the farm, chatting about life and wedding plans. I was able to spend time with these two beautiful souls at the house where brides normally get ready at. Something that I have never been able to do on a wedding day.
I did make sure that we shot at some iconic places on the farm. I want to be able to take Abby and Chris to those same spots on their wedding day in June to “recreate” those moments. How fun it would be for these two to have a similar photo from their engagement session and wedding day!
