Brookside Farm May Wedding
Ty and Sarah had a long engagement in today’s standards. They booked me two years ago! Most days, that hard for me to wrap my head around that it was two years ago we sat in my dining room discussing details of their wedding at Brookside Farms in Louisville. Their engagement was long enough that we were able to do winter save the dates in early 2015 and then a fall engagement session later in October.
The two sessions gave me a chance to get to know Ty and Sarah as a couple. Sarah and I met when we were both waiting on tables at Quaker Steak and Lube during our college years. I knew then that she was a laid back person. When we did the two sessions, her personality really shined, especially with Ty there to compliment the laid backness with his genuine smile. One could really see how much these two love each other.
When planning their wedding, they immediately fell in love with Brookside Farm and knew that it was the perfect location to start their marriage. The long driveway always puts my busy mind at ease prepping for a wedding day. You get off of Ravenna Ave and come down the lane you automatically find yourself at peace. With the open fields and calmness that surrounds Brookside it’s hard not to smile and find yourself at ease.
This feeling explains while Ty and Sarah fell in love with the farm. For brides who want a calm, stress free day, Brookside is that place! Sarah started her day with her bridesmaids getting their hair done in the bottom of the barn, while Ty was literally a room away. The separation wouldn’t last long as they shared a first look under one of the trees, just feet where they would become Husband and Wife. I typically shed a tear or two at every wedding, but man. This first look nearly brought me to my KNEES! It’s the reaction every Bride wants from her Groom.
With a change of rain, the ceremony was nearly moved into the Chapel, but with some faith in Mother Nature, and (LOTS) of prayers to the man upstairs, the ceremony went off without a hitch on the grounds. I had a solid five minute conversation with the Man upstairs asking for the skies to not cry on us. And he answered those prayers for me! Thank you!! The photos from this ceremony are my all time favorites from Brookside Farm.
This Brookside Farm wedding goes in the top three favorites from the property! You’re going to love everything about this rustic perfection from Sarah and Ty’s wedding day!
