Normally for a 1st birthday, I do cake smashes. But this 1st Birthday, we went to the toy store instead.
My little 7 pound 5 week 2 day old puppy (yes, I know that’s SUPER young, but she wasn’t in the best of living conditions and she was taken better care of in my hands) turned a year old yesterday.
You know her as Canon, or #CanontheRottie. Joshua and I know her as Boo-boo, or for the first 6 months we had her, Monster.
As any momma does, I spent Wednesday night going through Canon’s hashtag watching my sweet, loving, girl grow up. And then, I watched videos I have on my phone. I’m pretty confident to say that every bad habit this dog has, she learned from her daddy.
Let me give you some examples:
She chases the sweeper, and will PICK IT UP while your trying to clean. Guess who taught her to be fierce with that? You guest it, Joshua. When she was around 5 months old, Josh was cleaning before one of our football parties. While he has the hose out, he decidings let’s see what Canon does. Well – she bites the hose, but because the sweeper is ON, it’s sucking up the poor girls tongue and lips. Wonder why she chases the sweeper.
She jumps OVER my loveseat. She doesn’t walk around, she jumps OVER. Lord help me. I have video proof of this being Joshua, as well. Let’s just say, monkey see, monket do.
While I’ll admit, I was VERY hesitant getting a Rottweiler (for being completely clueless about the breed), I wouldn’t change her for the world. She’s the most loving, loyal, not to mention, CUDDLE bug of a dog that I have owned. Every evening, this now 85 pound dog will climb up into either Josh’s lap or mine, and veg out. She’s incredibly gentle with Josh and I’s year old nephew. Canon will make an awesome big sister rottweiler one day!
