Smash Pupcake with Charlie the Goldendoodle
If you don’t know me personally, you may not know how much of a dog lover I am. I wholeheartedly believe that a house is not a home without AT LEAST two dogs to cuddle! I will go out of my way to make friends with a dog before I will a stranger. It doesn’t take much to be best friends with a dog, really. Scratch behind their ear, and at the base of their tail. Best. Friends. Forever.
When Zak and Jill met with me the first time to discuss details of their wedding, Jill let me in on a little obsession of hers. Charlie. Her almost one-year-old Goldendoodle. She asked if I would mind taking photos of just him at their engagement session for his birthday. She was planning on getting him a dog-friendly smash cake. Friends, you can imagine my answer right away was YES!
Fast forward to this past Sunday when I met Jill, Zak, and Mr. Charlie at Petros Park in Stark County for their fall engagement photos. I was immediately surprised by how laid back this one-year-old pup was! All the Goldendoodles I’ve ever met, you had to brace yourself for their joyous hug/jump that they were going to greet you with! But not Charlie. He came right to me and licked my hand. He knew we were going to be great friends right away!
Mr. Charlie did so well for his family photos! He listened to commands, and we were able to get some seriously cute photos of him and his human parents! Then the fun began.
Jill brought out this adorable pupcake made by Grateful Dog Bakery in North Royalton, and Charlie immediately began to lick his lips. He knew this delicious treat was coming his way!
Unlike some babies I photographed in the past, Charlie wasted NO time digging into his peanut butter cake! You can see how happy he is in these photos! It seems he’s saying “Best birthday, EVER! Thanks, Mom!!!”
While I don’t specialize in photographing dogs, I think I may have to start offering sessions like these! Charlie set the bar pretty high when it came to this smash pupcake session, though!
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! I don’t think I stopped laughing the entire time!
Happy Birthday, Charlie!!!! I hope your momma spoils you with lots of toys and treats!!
MOM! IT’S SO GOOD!!!
