Encore Hall Winter Wedding
When Nick and Julie decided on a January wedding, they had one wish for their big day – snow. They were simply hoping there would be snow on the ground the day they got married. When the 10-day forecast came out, it originally called for mid-40s and sunshine. The good news though – we already had a decent amount of snow on the ground and it didn’t look like it was going to go anywhere. Then a week out from the wedding, that 40 degrees turned into 8 inches of snow. At one point, the weatherman was even calling for 15 inches!!! (HELLO WINTER WONDERLAND!) Snow was always a hopeful part of the plan for this beautiful Encore Hall Winter Wedding, but I don’t think Julie and Nick necessarily wanted 15 inches of it! Especially with the wedding being in Amish Country where the roads drift and travel can get a little sketchy!
We all know how the weatherman is the only person that can be wrong 50% of the time and still have a job the next day, so it came to no surprise that by 1 pm, the snow had stopped falling and a couple minutes later, it began to rain. At one point, Nick said “We prayed for snow and God gave us a blizzard. Then we prayed for less snow, and God gave us rain.” Isn’t it funny how that works out sometimes?
Nonetheless, rain or snow, snow or rain, this Encore Hall Winter Wedding was a show stopper. Julie had a beautiful bouquet with greenery, and my favorite – Juliet roses. Nick and his groomsmen were dressed in a navy blue tux, while the ladies were in maroon dresses. Blue and Maroon – if you’re wondering how the new Mr. and Mrs. came about these colors, it’s because of Nick’s love for Cleveland sports – The Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers!
I had so many favorites from Julie and Nick’s wedding day. This is the second wedding I have had the honor to photograph for the Sleutz family (Brant and Jana were married August 2015 in Kidron Ohio). There is always something so special about spending a wedding day with the same family more than once. Instead of a new handshake, you’re greeted with warm hugs!
I can’t think of a better way to start the 2019 wedding season! Enjoy your blog post, newlyweds!! ❤️
My second photographer Jamie took this. And she clearly NAILED IT!!!!
Julie’s two brothers. How sweet is this moment?!
Man, I love this perspective of the second kiss! I think Jamie nailed it!!
The groomsmen dance! I can NOT wait to see the video from this!!!
Julie had no idea! She thought her and Nick were going to play the shoe game!
This is Josh (Julie’s oldest brother) tackling Nick during the garter retrieval. Josh did the same thing to Brant when he and Jana were married 3.5 years ago!
I call this my “ice princess” ❤️
