Engagements Photos on the Family Farm
It’s always an honor when friends get engaged and ask you to photograph the new season of life they’re walking together. I’ve known Katie and Andy for a half a dozen years now. I’m honestly not sure the first time we met, but I’m sure it had something to do with a field party at the Bingo Farm or at the Shop while Josh was working on one of his many trucks. Over the years, our families have grown, but Andy’s sarcastic personality and Katie’s ability to laugh at Andy’s jokes haven’t changed one bit!
With the reluctant help of their four-year-old son, Austin, Andy finally decided this past Christmas would be a good time to ask Katie to be his Bride. Andy may (or may not have) been so nervous to ask Katie to be his wife, that he forgot to actually ask her! With a gentle reminder, Andy said those wife words every woman in love wants to hear, and without hesitation, Katie said yes! Shortly after their families knew the exciting news, Katie text me letting me know Andy finally popped the question and she wanted to know what my availability looked like. With Andy being a farmer, there are better times of the year than others to take time off.
With a wedding planned for next March, it was an easy decision to schedule their engagement session for the beginning of July when the fields were waves of golden wheat. The farm has been in Andy’s family for several generations now – Andy’s the sixth generation! We started off at the Shop with Katie and Andy’s two boys – Austin and Max. Once done at the Shop, we headed over to the farm and the wheat fields! Thanks to a little procrastination on Andy’s part, there was still wheat on the field for photos!
I know how excited Katie is to see these photos, my only wish was I was there with her today as she looked through her blog post! It’s finally your turn, Katie girl!! It’s finally your turn!
Love these photos Loren! Beautiful!
