It’s pink, and has sparklers in it. It’s called the Kaitlin Koolaid. I drank it. All of it. Didn’t bother sharing with anyone. I didn’t want anyone else to find out how awesome she was. I made them wait to experience it on their own.
In 2011 I came across a photo of an engagement ring with the infinity band, sitting on a baseball bat and I fell IN LOVE! I was hooked on Kaitlin’s work since then. I KNEW that when Josh would (ever) propose, I’d move mountains to book Kaitlin. And move mountains I did. I picked my wedding date based on Kaitlin’s availability the summer of 2014. In honor of Josh and I’s second wedding anniversary Monday, today’s blog post is all about the things I want to thank Kaitlin for.
First of foremost, I’m thankful for the person Kaitlin is. She’s generous, kind, caring, insanely talented, and determined to make sure her Brides are not just happy, but over the moon excited about their experience with her. She was more than just our wedding photographer, she was not only our friend, but an extension to our family.
Kaitlin built her business and made her brides and grooms her family. And because of that family environment, I have met my KNP Sister, Heather, who is also a photographer. She may live in New Jersey, but we make plans to see each other. Whether she travels to Ohio with her adorable english bulldog, Kauai, or we attend photography conferences together. I love me some Heather time!
I tortured Kaitlin on my wedding day with an anxious family formal list. Looking back on it, I should have cut that list way down, and still bought her a keg of her favorite booze. She ended up shooting family formals for 45 minutes. Absolute madness. But I will say, because of patience and not telling me I’m an absolute idiot, I have photos with the people who shaped the people Josh and I are today. And that is so very important to me!
Kaitlin not only gave me the most beautiful wedding photos, but she also taught me a thing or two during the process of being a KNP Bride. I learned about PIXIFI, and because of that client management system, I’m organized and Brides constantly think I’m on my game with emails, invoices, contracts, and questionnaires! I learned about gift giving with my Brides. Although I’m not the rock star Kaitlin is when it comes to gift giving, I know my Brides still appreciate their gifts!
On the day of the wedding, I was an absolute sponge. I was taking in what Kaitlin was doing, and studying her moves. Because of being a KNP bride, my posing transitioned to the next level. I was able to give my clients directions in their posing instead of faking it until I made it. I became a better wedding photographer because of Kaitlin.
It’s been two and half years since Josh proposed and (almost) two years since I became Mrs. Jackson, and I can’t thank Kaitlin enough for everything she had done for me personally and professionally these last couple years. I’m truly indebted to her.
No words….I just have no words! I love you!
