“Dad.”

Pause.

A little louder… “Dad..?”

Pause.

Louder… “Dad!”

And then walked Scott through the bridal suite room, just feet away from his daughter. Tears in his eyes as he marveled at the beauty that was his first-born, his only child, his sweet baby girl. Tears rolling down Julia’s face as she stood in front of the first man she ever loved.

Scott pulled a handkerchief out of coat pocket and handed it to his beautiful daughter standing in her wedding gown.

That wouldn’t be the last time Scott would pull the white handkerchief out of his pocket. Once again during his toast at dinner, he hands it off to Julia.

Scott was listing all the things he taught his daughter through the years. Her appreciation for good rock and roll. Her fishing abilities, and her driving skills. But the one thing he didn’t realize he was teaching her through all her childhood years was how to choose a good man. A man that was kind and respectful. Responsible and dependable. Scott realized though that even though he never truly had a conversation with Julia, she observed his actions in everyday life.

This past Saturday, Julia married a man that would make any daddy proud to have as a son-in-law. Justin cares for Julia’s needs and loves her deeply. It quite evident by the many tears that were shared on Sweetest Day!
