Fall Maternity Photos
We took a huge chance last week deciding to stick with our original plan of shooting maternity photos. Call it pregnancy stubbornness, but any other time with a forecast like last Wednesday, I would have rescheduled a session. Unless it’s mine. And I want photos taken! Thankful for a friend like Courtney from The Cannons Photography who amazingly agreed to still take photos. Even when the radar looked like it wouldn’t stop raining on us. I looked at my trusty app Dark Sky and saw a 20-minute window of NO RAIN. I rushed Joshua out of the house to Petros Park, and wouldn’t you know it when Dark Sky said it would stop raining, it actually stopped raining. Courtney shot fast and took some incredible photos for us! I’m so thankful for her and her willingness to meet us after she had a long and busy day!
Bump-date | Third Trimester
We’re four weeks away from our guess-date and the time seems to move at lightning speed. On November 1st, I remember putting my arms around my Husband and whispering in his ear “We’re bringing a baby home next month!” I mean seriously, where have the last eight months gone? It still seems like just yesterday I wrote avery open and very personal blog post about my inner struggle with getting pregnant a year ago. Now here we are, one week away from being nine months pregnant.
Baby Charlotte is an extremely active baby. At all hours of the day. Even with an anterior placenta, she has started waking me up in the middle of the night with her dancing. She enjoys practicing her kickboxing skills in my ribs. And according to our midwife at this weeks appointment, she’s already head down, sitting really low. While this may seem promising, I always know she’s my daughter and if she’s anything like her momma, she’s stubborn. She’ll be a 42-weeker. I just know it.
We’re shooting our last wedding this weekend together. I still feel extremely good, with very minimal pain. Maybe it helps that even at 36 weeks, I don’t have much of a belly. Thanks for that, tilted uterus!
Her nursery is almost complete. I just need to hang her doggy mobile that was handmade by Courtney. Since I originally wanted to wait for birth to find out her gender, I went with tans and navy blue in the room. Then Courtney took my love for all things dogs and added some puppies to the mix! I’m excited to eventually share some photos. Maybe once wedding season is officially over I’ll have some extra time for that!
We’re excited to meet our girl, and for the most part, I feel prepared for her arrival. The doula and birth photographer are getting weekly updates, the car seat is unboxed and ready to be installed, and our hospital bag will be ready to go after Saturday’s wedding. Because, you know…I don’t want to jinx myself and birth a baby before Saturday!
So excited for you friend!!
ALMOST time!!!! xoxo
