For Business Creatives
Each time that I attended Creative at Heart, Michael Alsop, Katelyn James’ husband, talked about Financial Freedom. Each time, he mentioned Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps. However, it was in July that he mentioned Dave’s Podcast. I wasn’t familiar with podcast before July 2016. Joshua listened to Chick McGee, but I didn’t realize the extent there is of the podcast world.
After coming home from Creative at Heart Round 5, I grab my iPad, looked for my Podcast app and searched for Dave Ramsey. Que my addiction to podcasts. And Dave Ramsey. Oh boy, did I ever get hooked on that man! Because of him, my 50k in student loans will be paid off this year! But that’s another blog post for the future maybe.
For the first two months, I would listen to Mr. Ramsey and his financial advice for at least three hours while in the office. I’d turn him on while driving to engagement sessions. I had a lot of Podcasts to catch up on.
It started to dawn on me that there had to be other Podcasts out there to listen to, right?! I wanted Business related Podcasts that would benefit my business. So I started with Ramsey Solutions. Then creative business related podcasts for boss ladies. Then podcasts about marriage!
Loren’s Favorite Three Business Related Podcasts
1. Dave Ramsey
Aside from the fact that this man’s teaching is changing Josh and I’s family tree, and teaching us how to provide a life for our kids we never had, he’s also impacted my business. For three hours a day, Dave Ramsey answers questions from his listeners, all over the world. These questions range from credit card issues to bankruptcy, to investment options.
Dave’s generosity has shaped the way I run my business. For the first time in five years, I truly know where every penny of my invoices is going. I know when to start investing in my retirement, and I sure as heck haven’t purchased any gear on credit. Like I have before. 2. The Goal Digger
I first learned of Jenna Kutcher during the Rising Tide Summit the winter of 2015. I loved her teaching, her heart, and her willingness to educate other business creatives. When Jenna released she was going to start a business related podcast, I was overjoyed. Twice a week, Jenna discusses real issues that Business Creatives face. It’s always a breath of fresh air when someone who is successful reminds you they were once in those trenches too. And maybe she is even side by side with you fighting the very same demons you’re fighting. Like owning a success, thriving business but being terrified of becoming a mom.
3. The Business Boutique
This business related podcast is by Christy Wright. She is a personality of Ramsey Solutions. I learned about Christy when she made a guest appearance on Dave Ramsey’s show one afternoon while I was listening. Like the Goal Digger, the Business Boutique is geared toward boss ladies. In a world where 7 out of 10 sole traders are men, it’s refreshing to learn from another successful woman. Christy Wright even puts on a conference in Nashville for women that someday I’m hoping to attend! Who knows, maybe I’ll attend this fall!! 😉

Since this off-season started, I need more quick to focus on writing copy that isn’t riddled with typos, I have truthfully slacked on my podcast listening. Last fall I was hooked on the following Podcasts:
