It’s always fun and exciting for me as a creative to have the opportunity to photograph in a new location. We’re creatures of habit so photographing at the same venues over and over again, you tend to use the same spots. When you’re at a new location, your creative juices are flowing and it forces you to think outside the box! This Country Cottage and Garden wedding proved true to this!
Located on a back dirt road out in the middle of nowhere, Country Cottage and Garden is a country boys home, and a city boys escape. You really wouldn’t expect to have such a beautiful venue greet you as you turn the bend back the one lane dirt road. The property features several cottages where the bridal party and family can make a weekend of the celebration, a pond where groomsmen can fish in the morning, and an open deck where the bride and groom are able to have their first dance under the stars. This venue has everything a relaxed Bride would want for her wedding day!
At 4:30 on Saturday afternoon, Brooke and her dad made their way down the aisle. The ceremony location overlooked the pond where just hours before, Jordan and his closest friends spent time catching fish. 10 years ago, Jordan asked Brooke to be his girlfriend and on Saturday, he promised to love and cherish her until death do they part. One of the sweetest parts of their ceremony was the fact that Jordan’s grandfather married them.
After a very heartfelt ceremony, Jordan and Brooke’s closest friends and family walked across the lane to the reception location where the Bridal Party ate dinner under the trees. The reception area at Country Cottage and Garden is one of my favorite locations. Once the sun sets, the lights turn on and the party is literally under the stars!
Congratulations Brooke and Jordan! I loved spending my Saturday with you both and can’t wait to see where this life takes you both!!!
