This is a blog series that I’m going to love writing about! After Creative at Heart, I fully understood the importance of helping people grow, and the whole idea behind Natalie Frank’s #communityovercompetition movement! Bitter people keep success stories to themselves. Bitter people don’t like to see other succeed. And friends, I may tend to have bitterness in my heart for somethings, but my heart is never bitter when it comes to helping photographers grow! The teacher in me can’t help not only want to teach, but NEED to teach!
Therefore, from this day on, if you’re a photographer, or someone who loves photography and you think you may want to jump off the diving board into the deep end, this blog series is all for you! Welcome to LJ’s Tuesday Tips and Behind the Scenes!
This series is going to take you through the various steps I take when booking a Bride or other portrait sessions – I take the same steps for each. It’ll include every step from the booking, until the photos end up in the Bride’s hands.
I’m so excited for this series, and i’m so excited to share my studio management system…PIXIFI!
Pixifi is a studio management system that helps keeps business creatives stay organized during the behind the scenes of running a successful business. Let me tell you a little bit about how I discovered Pixifi, and how it’s benefitted my business.
When I became a Bride, I learned so much from Kaitlin, and the first thing she taught me without probably even knowing it was Pixifi.
I use to print out a contract, if Brides didn’t book on the spot, I would have to mail those contracts, and wait a week, maybe even two weeks before I got it back, make a copy, and then send a copied contract back! Man, what a lot of steps, and TIME!
To keep track of expenses was a pain, too. Because it was a pain, I was never success in my expense tracking. I probably missed out on a lot of deductions!
Everything about my behind the scenes was a disaster. It was unorganized, messy, and time consuming. It took too many steps to do something that I knew had to have an easier way.
Then I booked Kaitlin for my wedding, and my life CHANGED!
She sent over our wedding contract and told me all I had to do was sign electronically and PUFF! We were done. I thought there had to be a ton of extra steps in the process and I was wrong. (Shhh…don’t tell my husband that…he’ll never let me live it down that I admitted I was wrong about something…… lol)
Once I signed my name using my mouse, I headed over to Pixifi’s website and immediately signed up for their trial run!
When I book a new wedding, I will also add that client into Pixifi. I create an event for them, and under the imaginary event umbrella, I create their invoice, contract, and assign my wedding workflow process to that Bride and Groom. More on that separate workflow later!
Not only does Pixifi streamline my contract process, but it also keeps beautiful track of my MONEY! I FINALLY found a way to keep track of my expense and invoices which in turn makes it super easy come tax time!
Don’t mistake my post that Pixifi if only for Photographers! Pixifi can help many business creatives with their system!
Pixifi is currently running a two month free trial. Head over, take a look, and give it a try. Make sure you dedicate a day for setup because it is a little time consuming, but I promise you, it’s so worth it. I’m a very type A person, and Pixifi is the perfect fit!
I hope you find this Tuesday’s Tip helpful! Be on the look out for our next Tuesday Tip Photo Mechanic and how I’ve used it to cut my culling part of my workflow IN HALF!!! IF NOT MORE!
Enjoy the rest of your week, friends! 🙂
