Without some serious meal planning prep, dinner time can seem like a taunting task. And lately in this house, meal planning has been nonexistant. It all boils down to I’m not taking the time on Sundays to sit down and think about what I’m going to make for dinner each day. When I do meal plan, I use my AWESOME Inkwell Press Planner, read about here.
On those days that I don’t have a plan of action in my kitchen, I have five go-to recipes that I know I can whip up in under 30 minutes.
- Meatloaf (“MA! WHERE’S THE MEATLOAF?!” – Sorry…I couldn’t resist!) and rice
I mix my meatloaf with worcestershire sauce, steak seasoning, chopped red onions, rice, and topped with BBQ sauce after it’s shaped in the dish. I use to do tomato sauce on top, but Josh didn’t like it that way, so the easy compromise with BBQ sauce. - BBQ Chicken and butter noodles
This is the best during those warmer days when I can grill the BBQ chicken! We have this more than I’d like to admit during the summer! - Spanish Rice
Annd…I just realized I’ve never blogged this recipe. Putting this on my calendar for next month! It’s my favorite, and has been since I was a kid who begged my mom once a week for this meal! SUPER easy and needs ingredients I always keep in our home. All you need is hamburger, rice, stewed tomatoes, peppers, and cheese! EASY PEASY dinner! - Sausage and Potatoes
A quick favorite I discoved on Pinterest a couple years ago. This recipe is the reason I ALWAYS have redskin potatoes in the kitchen - Hawaain Meatballs
Oh…one of Joshua’s favorite recipes that I made him when we first started dating. If you love pineapples, you’ll love this easy recipe. The longest part to this meal is waiting for the meatballs to cook (because I don’t buy frozen meatballs).
I can promise you that if dinner wasn’t planned at least the night before, and you show up at my house for dinner, you’ll find one of these five meals in front of you! The best part is, they’re all super easy to make, but most importanly, incredibly satisfying to the belly!
