Squire’s Castle Fall Engagement Phots
Oh Squire’s Castle. I feel so lucky that i’ve been able to shoot at not only one but TWO castles in Northeast Ohio. Seriously, how does OHIO get that lucky? Unlike Glamorgan in Alliance, Squire’s Caste is a hollow shell today. It was orginally owned by Feargus B. Squire, a co-manager to Standard Oil. Squire acquired over 500 acres and initionally the Caste was going to be a gatekeepers home, with a larger lodge beautiful behind. Squire’s wife was a city girl and despised the quiet nights that came when the sun set and the darkest fell. Stories have it that Rebecca Squire refused to sleep in fear that a wild animal would attack her. The lack of sleep eventually drove her insane. Don’t believe me? Do some research!
Melissa loved how different Squire’s Castle was compared to other locations that I shoot at, and I couldn’t agree more! One of the biggest perks of following this dream of mine and turning it into my full time career, I can say YES to locations that in the past I had to say no to because of travel.
For the beginning of November in northeast Ohio, I wasn’t expecting the leaves to still be on the trees, let alone still have color! But with a little luck, the backdrop for Squire’s Castle looked more like October than November. Our time together was quite the advanture. Waylon, Melissa and Nate’s two year old rescue blood hound was so excited to see so much open space that he was quite distracted. The poor guy wanted nothing more than to play instead of having his photo taken. However, with a little patiences, we were able to get a beautiful family photo, but also one with his gorgeous head tilt.
I’m so excited for next October 13th. Melissa and Nathan are getting married at one of my favorite venues – Peacock Ridge. Here’s to a quick 11 months until these two are married!!
Again…just wanting to point out how handsome our boy Waylon is!
