Winter Engagement Photos
Some photographers dread at the thought of taking photos in the dead of winter. While the cold poses it’s own challenges, I am finding a whole new love for this season. The trees are bare so there are no weird green shadows on faces, the sun filters through the tree limbs beautifully, and the winter sunsets make me want to blog 300 heart eye emojis!!
Ethan and Emily are true heroes to this story though. I typically will reschedule sessions when the outside temperature is below 34 degrees. However, Ethan works for the railroad and has a very hectic schedule that changes frequently. And these two lovebirds live four hours away. Needless to say, this could have been our only shot to spend time together before their Brookside Farm wedding this coming August.
When I arrived at the horse barn where Ethan’s mom boards her horse, my phone said the real feel was two degrees. Somehow, Emily and Ethan made this cold weather look warm! Maybe it’s the glowly light we had all session, but I’m going with how much these two were just plain naturals in front of the camera!
I joked at one point that while we’re freezing right now, come August at Brookside Farm in Louisville, it’ll be one of the hottest days all summer and we’ll be wishing for much cooler temperatures! Here’s to hoping Mother Nature plays nice with us on August 24th!
Emily and Ethan, thank you for braving the weather with me on Friday evening! I had the best of time with you both, and I am very much looking forward to seeing you again in just a few months! I hope Brookside Farm is ready for the amount of fun we’re going to have!
